### How do you calculate peptide reconstitution?

Concentration = peptide in the vial (mg) ÷ water added (mL). Volume to draw = dose (mg) ÷ concentration. Units on a U-100 insulin syringe = volume in mL x 100. Example: 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL; a 250 mcg dose is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units.

### How many units are in 1 mL?

A U-100 insulin syringe has 100 units per mL, so 1 unit is 0.01 mL. A 0.5 mL syringe holds 50 units, a 0.3 mL syringe holds 30.

### What if the dose is more than 100 units?

It will not fit a 1 mL syringe in one draw. Reconstitute with less water so the same dose takes fewer units, or ask your prescriber. The calculator warns you when this happens.
