A peptide vial inventory tracker turns three numbers (vials on hand, doses per vial, how often you take one) into a countdown: doses left and a run-out date. What a peptide vial inventory tracker actually tracks

Running out mid-protocol is the most avoidable way to break a schedule, and it happens because a vial does not show a number. You reconstitute it, draw from it for a couple of weeks, and one day the syringe pulls air. A peptide vial inventory tracker replaces the guess with three numbers you already know: how many vials you have, how many doses each one holds at your dose, and how often you take one. From those, doses left and a run-out date are arithmetic.

The math is only as good as "doses per vial", so it pays to get that number from the calculator rather than from memory.

Doses per vial comes from the reconstitution math

Take a vial labelled 5 mg. If you add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, the concentration is 2.5 mg/mL. A 250 mcg dose is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. The vial therefore holds 5 mg ÷ 0.25 mg = 20 doses. Change any input and the count changes: 3 mL of water gives 15 units per dose, but still 20 doses, because doses per vial depends on the vial's contents and the dose, not on the water. Change the dose to 500 mcg and the same vial holds 10.

Doses left, and "runs out around"

Once a protocol has an inventory, Peppy counts down every shot you log and warns you before you run out. That is the whole feature, and it shows up in three places:

  • The protocol card in the Protocols tab reads something like "≈ 12 doses left · runs out around Oct 3". The date comes from your schedule: 12 doses left on a daily protocol is 12 days; on a weekly one it is about three months. Cycles are respected, so off days do not consume doses.
  • The Today tab has an Inventory chip: "All stocked up" when everything is fine, "2 running low" when it is not.
  • A refill reminder fires before the last dose so the next vial is on hand in time. Reminders are set per protocol, alongside the dose reminders.

Because doses are subtracted from logged shots, the number is honest: skipped days do not count down, and a dose you add to the calendar after the fact does. Editing a past log corrects the count too.

Multi-vial stacks

Inventory is per protocol. If you run several compounds (see the stack tracker guide), each one has its own vial count and its own run-out date, and the Today chip tells you how many are low. That is usually the number that matters: a stack rarely runs out all at once, it runs out one compound at a time, and the one you forgot about is the one that stops the protocol.

When a new vial arrives, bump the vial count in the protocol editor. When you open a fresh vial with the same settings, nothing else changes; duplicating the protocol is only for a different dose or schedule.

Storage and expiry: follow the product, not the internet

Doses left is one limit on a vial. Time is the other. A reconstituted vial is a liquid that has been punctured, and it has a shelf life after that regardless of how much is left in it. How long depends on the compound, the diluent (bacteriostatic vs sterile water), the temperature and how the product was made, which is why the guidance that came with your product, or the pharmacy that dispensed it, is the only source that applies to your vial.

Two reference points, for context rather than as rules for your product: CDC infection-control guidance tells clinicians to discard an opened multi-dose vial within 28 days unless the manufacturer states another date, and compounded medications carry a beyond-use date assigned by the pharmacist rather than a manufacturer's expiry. If your vial has a beyond-use date on the label, that date wins over any doses-left count.

Practical habits that do not depend on any app: write the reconstitution date on the vial, keep it refrigerated if the product says so, and if the run-out estimate lands after the vial's use-by date, plan to discard and open a fresh one. How to do this in Peppy
